How to Use an eSIM: A Step-by-Step Beginner’s Guide
Share
If this is your first time using eSIM, you might be wondering: Will my phone work? When should I scan the QR code? The good news is that eSIM is much simpler than it sounds — as long as you follow the steps in the right order, it’s very hard to mess up.
1️⃣ How to check if your phone supports eSIM (EID is the key)
2️⃣ How to choose a country, duration, and data plan
3️⃣ What happens after checkout and when you receive the QR code
4️⃣ The safest time to scan and install your eSIM
5️⃣ How to connect properly after you arrive

STEP 1|Check if your phone supports eSIM (most important)
Before buying an eSIM, you must first confirm that your phone actually supports it. The fastest way is to open your phone dialer and enter:
❌ Case 1: IMEI only, no EID (cannot use eSIM)

If your screen shows IMEI only and no EID, this means your phone does not support eSIM and you should not purchase an eSIM.
✅ Case 2: EID is shown (eSIM supported)

If you can see an EID on the *#06# screen, your phone supports eSIM and you can proceed to the next step.

STEP 2|Choose your country, duration, and data plan

STEP 3|After checkout, wait for the QR code email
The email you enter at checkout is very important — your QR code and installation instructions will be sent there. In most cases, you will receive it within 24 hours.
STEP 4|When is the best time to scan and install?
Recommended: Scan and install your eSIM one day before departure, while connected to stable Wi-Fi.

STEP 5|Turn on data roaming after arrival
Switch your mobile data to the eSIM line → turn on Data Roaming. In most cases, your phone will connect automatically within 30 minutes.
*#06# → Check EID → Choose plan → Receive QR code → Scan before departure → Turn on data roaming after arrival
You can now use your eSIM with confidence — for navigation, browsing, messaging, and more.
